Barry’s Bay, Ontario – Cheryl Gallant, M.P. for Renfrew—Nipissing—Pembroke, was pleased to visit the Madawaska Valley Public Library in Barry’s Bay, to see how Lillith Robinson was progressing in her work at the library. Ms. Robinson was hired with support from the Federal Government’s Canada Summer Jobs program, and is working under the supervision of Head Librarian Karen Filipowski.

“I had an excellent tour of the library today, and a meeting with Lillith and Karen,” said MP Gallant. “It is clear that Lillith has been helping the library while keeping children in the community active over the summer. I am pleased the Madawaska Valley Public Library patrons are benefiting from the program.”

Canada Summer Jobs provides funding to not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses to help them create summer job opportunities for students. It is designed provide work experiences for students and support local organizations that provide important community services.
