Calabogie, Ontario – Cheryl Gallant, MP for Renfrew—Nipissing—Pembroke, was pleased to present Robert Colterman of Mount St. Patrick with a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

“Bob Colterman has demonstrated a lifetime of leadership in his community,” said MP Gallant. “Whether it is through the Knights of Columbus, municipal council, or the DACA community centre, Bob has always been relied upon.”

Bob taught his children the importance of hard work, faith and community, and he did so in his words as well as through his actions. In his youth, Bob was a member of 4H and Junior Farmers, and gave back to the 4H organization by later serving as a leader.

In his community, Bob was instrumental in the founding and the up-keep of the Dacre and Area Community Association (DACA) centre. Through the years Bob has served as the director and president of DACA.

Bob was a member of St. Patrick’s Church Parish Council for over 25 years. He has enjoyed countless years helping St. Patrick’s Church with the annual bazaar by being ever present in cutting ham, peeling potatoes and slicing turkeys. Bob and his lovely wife Marian deliver meals to housebound elderly with the Knights of Columbus “Meals on Wheels” program.

He has enjoyed the company of friends at family at annual events held at the centre such as the Hunter’s Ball, the Horse Pull and Canada Day Celebrations. Bob also sat as a Councillor with the former Township of Brougham.

“Everyone in this community has benefited from the experience, advice and dedication which Bob Colterman has shown, which is why I am so pleased today to be presenting Bob with a Diamond Jubilee Medal,” stated MP Gallant.
