Petition to the House of Commons in Parliament assembled

Whereas:
  • Former SNC-Lavalin CEO Pierre Duhaime has pleaded guilty to a charge of helping a public servant commit breach of trust;
  • SNC-Lavalin is currently facing prosecution for bribing public officials in Libya; and
  • Allegations have been publicly leveled that Canada's Attorney General was pressured by members of the Prime Minister's Office to intervene in the prosecution of SNC-Lavalin.
We, the undersigned, residents of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to immediately establish a Public Commission to investigate : (a) whether individuals at the highest levels of government sought to obstruct, influence, or interfere in the prosecution of SNC-Lavalin; (b) whether or not those individuals received bribes to obstruct, influence, or interfere in the prosecution of SNC-Lavalin; (c) to determine what knowledge any elected officials had of any efforts to obstruct, influence, or interfere in the prosecution of SNC-Lavalin; and (d) to determine whether or not the recent removal of Jody Wilson-Raybould from the position of Attorney General was undertaken as punishment for refusing to participate in any effort to obstruct, influence, or interfere in the prosecution of SNC-Lavalin.
