I was pleased to visit Ottawa Valley Physiotherapy in Petawawa for the announcement of a $1,690 grant from the Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF).

The grant will go towards the installation of automated door openers, inside the Petawawa Centennial Family Health Centre, making entry to the Ottawa Valley Physiotherapist and Sports Medicine wing fully accessible.

The project is especially good news for Petawawa given the number of injured soldiers who call the town home.

Physiotherapists help Canadians living with physical disabilities everyday in managing or overcoming their disabilities.

A fully barrier-free physiotherapy clinic will allow better services for all potential patients.

The EAF supports community-based projects across Canada that improve accessibility, remove barriers, and enable Canadians with disabilities to participate in and contribute to their communities.

The EAF was established in 2008 to help fund small projects in communities across Canada to improve physical accessibility for persons with disabilities.

Between 2008 and 2010 the program provided funding to hundreds of accessibility projects across Canada.
