Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation administers the Eastern Ontario Development Program

Petawawa, Ontario – Cheryl Gallant, M.P. for Renfrew—Nipissing—Pembroke, was pleased to meet with Louise Hermitte of Speedpro Signs in Petawawa to see the results of federal funding of $26,160 over two years from the Eastern Ontario Development Program. The funding was directed creating two summer internships for college students and providing assistance to existing employees.

“Chris and Louise started Speedpro 12 years ago, and have grown their business into a thriving operation,” said MP Gallant. “Over the course of the last 12 years, Chris and Louise have shared their success in giving back to their community by helping young, budding graphic designers gain experience through High School Co-op programs, as well as hiring recent graduates from Algonquin College in Pembroke.”

Speedpro Signs puts another graduate to work on signage for GTAs GO BusesAmong Speedpro Signs’ numerous high-quality advertising products are their printed light lens, vehicle wraps, wall designs and rack cards. In 2009, The Petawawa location of SpeedPro was awarded the Franchise of the Year Award.

The Eastern Ontario Development Program is a Government of Canada initiative which promotes economic development in Eastern Ontario, leading to a diversified and competitive regional economy.
