Renfrew, Ontario – Cheryl Gallant, M.P. for Renfrew—Nipissing—Pembroke, was pleased to visit the Golden Age Activity Centre in Renfrew to announce $24,500 in funding through the Federal Government’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.
“I am delighted that the application of the Golden Age Activity Centre was successful,” said MP Gallant. “I look forward to visiting soon to witness the worthy endeavours this funding will support.”
The Golden Age Activity Centre plans to use the funding to purchase sound and music equipment, computers, and new appliances to provide the means for seniors to interact socially as well as take part in educational activities. The goal is to engage area seniors in active, social activities to enhance lifestyles and encourage active health living.
Organizations that want to help seniors make a difference in the lives of others, and in their communities, are eligible to receive federal grants and contributions funding from The New Horizons program.
