I traveled to Golden Lake, and visited with the proud new owners of the Sands on Golden Lake, Craig and Jennifer Purcell, to see their proposed plans to bring a new level of hospitality to their guests.

Nothing is more enjoyable than a multi-generation family vacation, allowing parents, grandparents and children to relax and spend valuable time together.

Craig and Jennifer are working hard to make their vacation resort as accessible to families as possible.

Through a $50,000 grant from the federal Enabling Accessibility Fund, the Sands on Golden Lake has installed two new fully accessible washrooms.

These new facilities allow all visitors to the Sands on Golden Lake, regardless of their accessibility needs, to relax and enjoy more aspects of their vacation in comfort.

The EAF supports community-based projects across Canada that improve accessibility, remove barriers, and enable Canadians with disabilities to participate in and contribute to their communities.

The EAF was established in 2008 by the Conservative Government to help fund small projects in communities across Canada to improve physical accessibility for persons with disabilities.

Between 2008 and 2010 the program provided funding to hundreds of accessibility projects across Canada.
