I recently met with local officials at Fraser Road, on the border of Horton and McNab/Braeside Townships, to see the upgrades needing to be done, and announce $90,482 in funding from the federal Canada 150 Fund.
This grant represents the true nature of the people of the Ottawa Valley, always willing and able to help their neighbours.
The cooperation between Horton and McNab/Braeside Townships on this project is an example for all municipalities in Ontario to copy.
Horton Township will use funding to make a variety of repairs to Fraser Road, including ditching, removing dips and sags, levelling, and applying a new asphalt surface to the road.
Canada Day 2017 will mark the 150th Anniversary of Confederation.
