I was pleased to visit with Father Peter Do and Pauline Hughes of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Renfrew to announce a grant in the amount of $50,000 through the Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF).
Congratulations to Pauline Hughes for her hard work on this successful application and the generosity of the congregation.
Despite our changing society, a church remains a centre of the community. This renovation will expand for visitors to Our Lady of Fatima for events the hosted at the church.
The grant will go towards the installation of an elevator at the Parish.
The EAF supports community-based projects across Canada that improve accessibility, remove barriers, and enable Canadians with disabilities to participate in and contribute to their communities. The EAF was established in 2008 to help fund small projects in communities across Canada to improve physical accessibility for persons with disabilities.
Between 2008 and 2010 the program provided funding to hundreds of accessibility projects across Canada.
