I am proud to join the many, outraged constituents who have contacted me to share their disgust with any plan to give hard earned taxpayer dollars to a convicted terrorist.
First of all, on behalf of the people of Canada, I extend our condolences to the widow of combat medic, United States Sergeant First Class Christopher Speer. Next, I extend our apologies to the American people, for finding out about this pay-off on the most U.S. patriotic event in their calendar, the anniversary of American Independence. Finally, I am calling on Trudeau to put a ‘Stop Payment’ on any cheque going to Khadr, until Mrs. Speer has her day in court.
Sgt. Speer was killed by a grenade thrown by terrorist Omar Khadr.
Khadr pled guilty to murder and other war crimes and served time in prison before being returned to Canada. Speer was unarmed.
Khadr, who was born in Canada to an Afghan-jihadist worshipping family, chose to join a terrorist organization to take up arms against NATO members, which includes Canadian soldiers.
A U.S. court has awarded Mrs. Speer a $134 million settlement in the wrongful death of Sgt. Speer. Mrs. Speer is seeking to have that judgment recognized in a Canadian Court.”
Until her case is resolved and justice is obtained, Trudeau has an obligation to press pause on any payments.
I am also encouraging all Canadians to send a message to Trudeau to put a ‘Stop Payment’ on Khadr’s cheque.
Already, the excuse we are hearing from the Trudeau party is that they must pay something.
Rather than challenge the terrorist civil law suit and not pay anything, which is the right thing to do, this gets slipped out.
The 10.5 million dollar pay-off is something agreed to by Trudeau. The 10.5 million dollar pay-off to convicted terrorist Omar Khadr has not been ordered by any court.
There is an outstanding court judgement in the United States against Khadr in favour of the dead soldier’s widow.
Any ordered settlement must go to the widow and the family of Christopher Speer and to U.S. soldier Layne Morris, who was blinded in one eye in the attack that killed Speer.
Not one nickel should go to Khadr.
Outraged constituents have been asking me what can they do to prevent the 10.5 million pay-off from happening.
Demand justice from the Trudeau party!
Demand that with any court-ordered or Trudeau-negotiated payout, the money should all go the widow, her family and anyone else hurt or maimed by Omar Khadr.
