In our increasingly global world, it is important that Canadian companies build friendships and find partners around the world. The National Research Universal (NRU) reactor at Chalk River, thanks to proactive work by AECL, recently became the first non-power nuclear reactor to achieve full membership to the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO). This organization is dedicated to helping members achieve the highest levels of operational safety and performance. Membership in WANO is a very important achievement for the Chalk River Laboratories, and will help improve their already stellar production and safety record. Congratulations to the NRU!
