As the MP whose riding is home to CFB Petawawa, I am particularly concerned about the crisis in Syria and what role, if any, NATO may be called upon should NATO ally Turkey be further drawn into events taking place in that country,” observed Cheryl Gallant, MP.

In addition to Head of Delegation MP Cheryl Gallant, MP delegates included Susan Truppe, Leon Benoit, Terrance Young, Christine Moore, Jack Harris, Paul Dewar, John McKay. From the Senate, Pierre Nolin, Raynell Andreychuk, George Furey, Joseph Day.

“The annual session has a full agenda, including addresses from Dr. Karl Lamers, President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly as well as Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Secretary-General of NATO and Chairman of the North Atlantic Council. I look forward to representing Canada’s interests,” concluded Cheryl Gallant, MP.

The NATO Parliamentary Assembly was established in 1955 to provide an essential link between NATO and the elected representatives of the NATO Nations. This helps build parliamentary and public consensus in support of Alliance policies. The Canadian NATO Parliamentary Association consists of membership of all political parties represented in the House of Commons.
